On July 14, 1991 we opened the doors at Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour as our very first property in Australia. It is a significant milestone in AccorHotels’ history.
Celebrating 25 years of amazing growth and quality of brands, we also want to acknowledge the incredible work done in contributing to the communities in which we operate. Over the past 25 years, our employees and management team have simultaneously put in countless hours, raised thousands of dollars and positively impacted many peoples’ lives.
It is with great pride that we announce today, on this significant milestone in AccorHotels’ history that we are launching a new direction in our fundraising and community engagement with the AccorHotels Community Fund Australia.
The AccorHotels Community Fund Australia is a unified program and platform that will enable all our fundraising and community efforts to come together, with the new focus of building healthy families.
We aim to achieve this by investing in three core focus areas: youth, health & wellbeing and diversity via trusted partners that will enable positive change in the community. The four foundation partners are: Kokoda Youth Foundation (youth), Lifeline (mental health), Garvan Institute of Medical Research (focusing on rare and neglected cancers) and AIME Mentoring (diversity).
We’re extremely excited to announce a major, unified fundraising drive in every hotel property across the country on International Day of Charity, September 5, which Simon explains in this short launch video.
We cannot be more proud of the efforts from the past 25 years and look forward with great anticipation to the next 25 with the launch of the AccorHotels Community Fund Australia.
